Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) — There took place talks between Ri Won Jong, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, and Sergei Chernogayev, chairman of Russia’s independent federation of trade unions, at the Pyongyang Assembly Hall on April 14.

The talks discussed the issues of boosting exchange and cooperation between the trade unions of the two countries in conformity with the DPRK-Russia friendly relations which have entered a new turning phase.

Present at the talks from the DPRK side were Vice-Chairman Kim Song Ho and officials of the C.C., GFTUK, and from the Russian side members of the delegation of Russia’s independent federation of trade unions and Vladimir Topeha, charge d’affaires ad interim of the Russian embassy here.

At the end of the talks, a letter of understanding on friendship and cooperation between the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and the independent federation of trade unions of Russia was signed.

The GFTUK Central Committee gave a reception at the Pyongyang Koryo Hotel in welcome of the delegation that evening.
