Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) — A group of officials from the Journalists Union of Korea (JUK) made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu.
The group members left Hyesan and arrived in Pochonbo to go round the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the police sub-station, the subcounty office and other places. Then they toured the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site and the Samjiyon Revolutionary Battle Site.
They visited the Paektusan Secret Camp. Recollecting the precious revolutionary careers of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who performed undying feats for the country and its people, the times and history, they looked round the log cabin of the headquarters where the red flag of the revolution is fluttering and the Chairman’s birthplace in Sobaeksu Valley.
At the sites of publishing house and barracks in the Sajabong Secret Camp, they hardened their will to follow the spiritual world of anti-Japanese publishers and conduct a vigorous media campaign for encouraging all the people to the implementation of the Party’s decisions, with the writing brush and microphone of the revolution. Then, they sped up their march towards Mt Paektu.
On the top of Mt Paektu, the sacred mountain of the revolution, the marchers all gave a shout of joy, which resounded throughout its peaks.
Then, they toured the Mupho Bivouac, the Taehongdan Revolutionary Battle Site, etc.
The group of marchers held an oath-taking meeting before the statue of Chairman Kim Jong Il in Samjiyon City on Wednesday.
During the study tour, they camped in forests like the anti-Japanese guerrillas and conducted such colorful political and cultural activities as a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas, contest of quick and skilful writing in various themes, and visited the Samjiyon Potato Farina Production Factory and the Samjiyon Blueberry Drink Factory.
