Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) — Schoolchildren’s camping began at the Songdowon International Children’s Camp with due ceremony Wednesday on the occasion of the auspicious April holiday.

Present at the ceremony were Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ju Mun Jin, chairman of the provincial people’s committee, officials concerned, teaching staff of the camp and campers.

The participants laid a flower basket and bouquets at the statues of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il at the camp and paid tribute to them.

The camp flag was hoisted amid the sound of a bugle heralding the start of camping and the playing of the song “March of the Children’s Union”.

Then, a report and speeches were made at the ceremony.

At the end of it, there was a march-past of campers.

Meanwhile, camping started at the Phihyon Children’s Camp in North Phyongan Province, the Jangjasan Children’s Camp, the December 6 Children’s Camp in Kangwon Province, the Kyongpho Children’s Camp, the Waudo Children’s Camp and other camps across the country.

Officials of the relevant areas congratulated the schoolchildren on their arrival at the camps on the occasion of the significant Day of the Sun.
