Pyongyang, April 22 (KCNA) — A meeting took place on April 21 to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the Chongjin Steel Plant.

Present there were officials concerned and officials and employees of the steel plant.

A reporter referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung visited the steel plant in April 1946 to indicate the orientation and ways for pushing ahead with its reconstruction in a bold way and opened up a prospect for putting the metallurgical industry on a Juche basis.

He said that Chairman Kim Jong Il guided the workers and technicians to glorify the immortal leadership exploits of the President for the development of the metallurgical industry with proud successes in production and solved all problems arising in the modernization of production processes.

He stressed that the Chongjin Steel Plant has developed into a leading base of metallurgical industry under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

He called upon the workers and technicians of the plant to take the lead in the patriotic work for developing the country’s metallurgical industry, rallied close around the great Party Central Committee, and contribute to building a thriving nation by increasing steel production.
