Botanical Chemicals Applied to Stamping out Forest Insects

Pyongyang, May 19 (KCNA) — Working people in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK are producing efficacious botanical chemicals to stamp out forest insects.

Researchers of the provincial forest science institute extracted the insecticidal substance from plants abundant in the region and succeeded in the home production of botanical chemicals. The botanical chemicals, low in production cost, promote the initial growth of saplings. And they are more effective than chemical pesticides.

Through technical training and demonstration for the production of botanical chemicals, Samjiyon City makes sure that all forest rangers and harmful insect observers apply botanical chemicals.

Working people in Kim Jong Suk County have secured botanical chemicals, motor sprayers and knapsack sprayers to stamp out the harmful insects.

Paegam and Kim Hyong Gwon counties are conducting regular and intensive observation while spreading chemicals in special protection forest and reserves.
