Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) — North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK has created more than one thousand hectares of oil-bearing forests this year.
On the basis of setting the number of trees per hectare in a rational way, Myonggan County planted hundreds of thousands of Evodia daniellii Benn while working by process to increase the rate of rooting.
Working people in Hoeryong City and Kilju and Kyonghung counties have planted and cultivated oil-bearing chestnut, pine-nut and walnut trees by introducing scientific methods and plant growth promoter suited to the regional soil conditions.
Kim Chaek City and Myongchon and Puryong counties, too, have made sincerity to manure and tend saplings while applying an advanced cultivation method.
Meanwhile, the province has consolidated the foundation of production at the raw materials bases while conducting a mass campaign to acquire new land for increasing the cultivation area on the basis of survey of the area of land and forest distribution.
