Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) — The work for cultivating dry-field rice is being hastened in different parts of the DPRK.

South Hwanghae, North Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces are taking technical measures to increase the per-hectare yield on the basis of the scientific selection of the right soil and right time after expanding the cultivation area of dry-field rice and choosing the variety of dry-field rice suitable to double cropping.

They are also pushing ahead with the work for generalizing the successes and experience of the units which have increased the crop yields by introducing the technology of the high-yielding cultivation of dry-field rice while directing efforts to cultivating dry-field rice as a second crop.
