Pyongyang Municipality Releases Nearly 200 Million Fry into Rivers

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) — According to Minju Joson, the Pyongyang Municipality Fish Farming Management Bureau released nearly 200 million fry into the Taedong River and several medium and small rivers in the municipality.

The management bureau has intensified its guidance so that all the spawning units put the work to breed seed fish and collect eggs on a sci-tech basis according to seasons.

The Taedonggang Spawning Station and the Ryongsong Breed-fish Station introduced advanced technology into breeding fry to ensure the survival rate and weight ratio of fry at a high level.

The Kangnam and Youth Tudan breed-fish stations have established a system of breeding fry and paid attention to improving the technical and practical skills of their employees, thus breeding large quantities of fry.

Other spawning units also directed great efforts to breed fry and made much preparation for releasing fry.

Meanwhile, several spawning units sent hundreds of thousands of young catfish to the rural areas in the municipality where paddy-field fish breeding is conducted.
