
Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) — The Ensemble of the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK gave a music and dance performance at the Ponghwa Art Theatre on February 8, the 78th founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Army.
Among the audience were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, No Kwang Chol, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, Jong Kyong Thaek, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, and other commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence, officers and men of the KPA, those involved in the overseas military operations, and officials and meritorious persons in Pyongyang.
Put on the stage of the performance, which began with a male quintet and chorus “National Anthem of DPRK”, were colorful numbers, including military songs sung in the glorious course of the revolutionary armed forces and famous songs on patriotism.
The performers sang high praises of the might and matchless heroism of the KPA defending the sovereignty of the DPRK and the well-being of the people with invincible arms, remaining loyal to the Party’s ideology and leadership.
The performance was acclaimed by the audience as it showed the high spirit of all the service personnel to fully demonstrate the might of the powerful revolutionary army in the vanguard of the gigantic creative struggle for more firmly defending the sovereignty of the dignified DPRK and the happiness of the people and ushering in a new era of national prosperity under the leadership of the great Party Central Committee.
