Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) — The workers of the Munchon Kumgang Smeltery in the DPRK have increased production by strengthening their own material and technical foundations.

The smeltery’s production plan is being fulfilled every day thanks to the efforts of its officials, workers and technicians.

The smeltery gives precedence to the supply of raw materials and intensifies the supply service for its workers, thus boosting the enthusiasm of the producers.

After finishing the overhauling of the revolving furnace and manufacturing and installing a wet dust arrester, the blast furnace workshop is increasing the productivity and quality of zinc sublimated matter.

The liquid making workshop has developed a technology for recycling waste materials, thus increasing the extraction rate and injecting vitality into production.

The zinc electrowining workshop has further rationalized the system of zinc dissolution process in the induction furnace and the engine-water workshop has solved the problems arising in boiler operation to fully supply the steam needed for production.

The smeltery is also directing efforts to the technical upgrading of equipment, repairing tens of production and welfare buildings, producing greenhouse vegetables, and consolidating the foundation for fish farming and stockbreeding to improve the working and living conditions for workers.
