Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) — North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK has expanded the areas under wheat and barley cultivation, according to Rodong Sinmun.

The province set the goal for cultivating wheat and barley in larger areas and organized the work for its realization.

In particular, it worked out a plan for cultivating wheat and barley well even in the northern intermediate and mountainous areas and took scientific and technological measures. At the same time, it urged farms to expand the areas under wheat and barley cultivation.

Sowing wheat and barley seeds was conducted actively at the farms.

Sowing wheat and barley seeds was finished in the right season in many areas, including Kilju and Hwadae counties, and the farms in northern intermediate and mountainous areas including Kyongwon and Kyonghung counties have increased their sowing results every day.

The province is conducting operation and guidance dynamically to make successes in the cultivation of early crops by manuring and tending wheat and barley in a scientific and technological way in the expanded cultivation areas.
