Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) — The 15th enlarged plenary meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea (SWUK) took place on Wednesday.

Present there were members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the women’s union.

Present there as observers were officials of the Central Committee of the women’s union and the provincial, city and county women’s union committees.

The enlarged plenary meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the important tasks set forth by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the First Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK and the issue of convening the Eighth Congress of the SWUK.

Jon Hyang Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the women’s union, made a report.

The reporter said that the important tasks set forth by Kim Jong Un at the Ninth Congress of the WPK and the First Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK are immortal programmes indicating the most scientific orientation and goals of struggle, and practical tasks for giving further momentum to the era of comprehensive development of Korean-style socialism.

The report analyzed in detail the successes and experience of the past period and the deviations in the union work and their causes. It pointed out the measures for redoubling fighting efficiency and activity of the women’s union in the general advance this year by bringing about a radical turn in the union work.

The reporter called upon all the officials and members of the women’s union to fully demonstrate the might of the women’s union in the grand struggle for attaining the new long-term goals set forth by the Ninth Congress of the WPK, cherishing the great love and trust of Kim Jong Un.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

Relevant decisions were adopted at the meeting on the basis of research and discussion on the draft decisions.
