16th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of Eighth C.C., GFTUK Held

 

Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) — The 16th enlarged plenary meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea was held on April 3.

Present there were members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the GFTUK. Attending it as observers were trade union officials from Pyongyang and provinces.

The enlarged plenary meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the important tasks set forth in the historic policy speech the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made at the First Session of the 15th Supreme People’s Assembly.

First of all, the meeting took scientific and realistic measures for the GFTUK organizations to conduct the ideological work in an offensive way to give full play to the revolutionary enthusiasm of the working class in conformity with their mission and duty, on the basis of deep study of a draft decision.

It referred to the methodological issues for effectively conducting the work to help workers and trade union members have a deep understanding of the essence of the historic policy speech, steadily enhancing the effectiveness of ideological education and thus dynamically encouraging the masses to steady advance and innovations.

It dealt with the tasks for preparing all the trade union members to be genuine socialist working people in the practical struggle for national prosperity by directing the socialist patriotic movement, the revolutionary mass movement to the implementation of the line of the three revolutions – ideological, technological and cultural.

It mentioned the principled issues arising in bringing about a revolutionary turn in the union work by regarding the requirements of the times for comprehensive development as practical guidelines for strengthening the union organizations.

A relevant decision was adopted at the enlarged meeting to be followed by resolution-taking speeches.
