Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) — Rodong Sinmun, Josoninmingun and Chongnyon Jonwi carry a joint editorial on Thursday on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The leadership of the great Party is the strength and victory of Juche Korea, the editorial says, and goes on:

The WPK, which has recorded the longest ruling history of socialism by leading the state and people with responsibility for the Korean revolution, is greeting its 80th founding anniversary.

The WPK was founded at a time when new Korea raised the anchor of the history. This was a turning point in carving out the destiny of the country and its people and developing their future.

The 80-year-long history of the WPK is a proud history in which it has regarded the great Juche idea as its guidelines and won victory after victory by dint of its truth.

In the period when all manner of arguments and isms were rampant over the path of a new country after its liberation, our Party solved all problems from the Juche-oriented standpoint and thus accomplished the great cause of nation building in such a short span of time.

With its Juche-oriented faith and will, the WPK created the myth of war victory in which rifles defeated A-bomb, brought about the great Chollima upswing from scratch by rejecting the interference and pressure of outside forces after the war and chose the road of simultaneously developing the two fronts it covered in accelerating socialist construction with arms in one hand and hammer and sickle in the other.

The WPK’s 80-year-long history is the one of the revolutionary leadership of the socialist ruling party which clearly proved before the times and history that socialism is a science and its victory is a science.

It has built an industrial state with powerful potentials for development by realizing socialist industrialization just in 14 years.

By firmly adhering to the principle of collectivism, it fully displayed the advantages of Korean-style socialism and its institutional superiority.

The DPRK people have cherished socialism as their lives, life and future before it is any political ideal or mode in the struggle of the Party which has steadily enforced socialist policies and continued to promote the people’s rights and interests and wellbeing even in the difficult period since its founding.

The WPK’s 80-year-long history is an honorable history in which it has firmly defended the dignity and peace of the state and the people, winning victory after victory in the showdown with imperialism.

The great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War in which the young DPRK confronted with the U.S.-led imperialist aggression forces was the first historic victory our Party and people achieved in the showdown with imperialism after the party founding.

It is a great victory that it defeated the formidable enemy, but the greater victory than it is to prevent war and guarantee eternal peace.

Our Party has made our people lead a stable life without war and made the sky of our country clear and blue at all times in the biggest hotbed in the world. This is the greatest feat of our Party.

The WPK is a genuine people’s Party which has struggled for the people in reliance on them for 80 years.

The people-first principle is the essence of the original idea and spirit of our Party.

When the people are under difficult and hardship conditions, the Party stands by the people first and provides the ordinary people with new houses free of charge and the Party always pursues policies for the people, taking care of and supporting them. Such era can be ushered in only by our Party.

The past ten-odd years, which have ushered in a great and dynamic new era in the 80-year-long leadership history of the WPK, occupy a distinguished place.

The new era of the Juche revolution is an epoch-making one in which the Party makes the state, people and future great through brilliant succession, new pioneering and profound changes.

Thanks to the Party, we exist and there are socialism and the future of the country. This is just the main review of 80-year-long history of the Party and the faith of our people confidently looking forward to the victory in the forthcoming 80, 800 and 8 000 years.
