
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) — An event took place at the Rungna People’s Sports Park on March 8 to mark the AFC Women’s Football Day.
Present there were officials of the DPRK Football Association, women coaches, instructors and researchers of professional sports units and reserves training units in Pyongyang and students of Pyongyang International Football School.
Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports who doubles as the chairman of the Football Association, made a speech.
The speaker extended congratulations to the proud women footballers who are glorifying the prestige of the dignified DPRK with gold medals in international games and to mothers, coaches and instructors who are making their devoted efforts for the woman footballers on the occasion of the March 8 International Women’s Day.

Noting that the whole country’s interest in and expectation for football are growing day by day, he stressed that today’s colorful sports activities would be a good occasion for sharing creative opinions and experience for the development of women’s football.
After the demonstration of dribbling and technical movements of girl students of Pyongyang International Football School, the participants spent a pleasant time, playing a football match and other sports and amusement games, divided into Hong and Chong teams.
