Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) — Hundreds of young people in South Phyongan Province of the DPRK have volunteered for newly-organized coal mine youth shock brigades.
Youths in Kaechon City put their names on the rolls of the Kang Kon Youth Shock Brigade at the Jagang Provincial Supply Coal Mine under the Kaechon Area Coal-mining Complex, the Ri Tae Hun Youth Shock Brigade at the Kaechon Coal Mine and the Kim Hyok Youth Shock Brigade at the Pongchon Coal Mine.
Those in Pukchang County were determined to become members of the Kang Ho Yong Youth Shock Brigade at the Phunggok Youth Coal Mine and the Kang Kon Youth Shock Brigade at the Inpho Youth Coal Mine under the Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex and the Ri Su Bok Youth Shock Brigade at the Tukjang Youth Coal Mine under the Tukjang Area Coal-mining Complex.
A meeting was held in Phyongsong City on June 12 to organize coal mine youth shock brigades.
Present there were Ri Kyong Chol, chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, officials of the youth league, members of the coal mine youth shock brigades and young people in the city.
After a report was made at the meeting, flags were awarded to the youth shock brigades to be followed by oath-taking speeches.
Officials and young people presented bouquets to the shock brigade members who responded to the Party’s call with group volunteering.
