Electricity Production Goes up in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) — The electric power industry of the DPRK brings about a great upsurge in production while taking scientific measures to boost the electricity production in a stable and sustained way.

Officials of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and relevant units are intensifying discussion on the operation to attain this year’s goal for increased electricity production and lay solid foundations for long-term development.

Officials and workers of the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex launched a technological innovation campaign to update the technical and economic indices of generating equipment and reduce the fuel consumption.

The Chongchongang Thermal Power Station is operating generators in full-capacity while ensuring proper process-by-process engagement and contact among units to raise the output of electricity every day.

Pyongyang, East Pyongyang and Sunchon thermal power plants have taken steps to increase the combustion efficiency and thermal efficiency and raise the power output per generator, while managing boilers in a responsible manner to ensure the stability of production.

Workers at Suphung, Jangjingang and other power stations are meticulously checking and repairing hydraulic structures and power systems and applying scientific methods for water control to carry out their schedules.
