Pyongyang, May 1 (KCNA) — Spring tree planting is brisk in different parts of the DPRK.

The Ministry of Land and Environment Protection examined the plans of cities and counties for planting trees in spring and has directed efforts to creating timber, oil-bearing and paper-based forests for regional-industry factories.

The Forest Guidance Bureau under the ministry and the forestry sector across the country worked out daily and weekly plans to suit the characteristics of different regions and species of trees, and have pushed ahead with the forest restoration in a scientific and long-term way.

Provinces urged the cities and counties to choose in detail the areas for afforestation and select species of trees suited to the climate and soil conditions in the relevant areas and, on this basis, have made sure that the work by process is carried out in accordance with technical regulations and the planting of trees is conducted in a qualitative way.

As a result, more than 100 millions of trees have been planted throughout the country since the start of the spring tree planting.
