Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) — The Korean People’s Revolutionary Army, the first Juche-type revolutionary armed forces of our country, was founded on April 25, 1932.

In the run-up to its founding anniversary, the DPRK people look back with deep emotion on the immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung in leading the anti-Japanese revolutionary war to victory by creating an epoch-making model of guerrilla warfare.

The battle of Xiaoyingziling, organized and commanded by the President in May 1932, was the first victorious ambush in which the young Korean People’s Revolutionary Army wiped out the enemy at a single stroke by taking advantage of the favourable terrain.

The President applied outstanding military tactics, such as a sudden strike, a tactic of disintegrating the enemy and a preemptive strike at the enemy’s heart, at the assault on Dongning county town. Those military tactics were the decisive factor that made it possible for a small unit to defeat a large unit of the enemy by dint of strategic and tactical superiority.

Among the tactics created by the President are the tactic of marching a long distance at a step, combined with tactics of allurement and deception, blitz tactics, massing and dispersing of troops and their moves, and circling tactics whose might was fully demonstrated in guerrilla activities.

The Korean People’s Revolutionary Army won the battle of Fusong county town with a tactic of appearing now in the east and now in the west in a flash. And it also won a great victory at the battle on Mt Hongtou by annihilating the enemy in a trap valley. Various other battles, which made a breakthrough in the final offensive operations for national liberation, shook the Japanese imperialists’ colonial rule to its very foundation.

The Juche-oriented tactics created by the President during the anti-Japanese revolutionary war were invincible weapons that made it possible to defeat with guerrilla warfare the aggressor army using regular warfare.
