Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) — A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea issued the following press statement on Saturday:

The U.S. and its satellite countries had such confabs for nuclear war as a “nuclear consultative group” meeting and “extended deterrence dialogue” what they called. They let loose rhetoric about the nuclear threat to the DPRK and made assertion about someone’s “denuclearization” again.

It is an unreasonable talk and fantastic daydream to mention about disarming the other belligerent party’s nuclear weapons in meetings for shaping the use of nuclear weapons targeting the DPRK and other regional countries as a policy and plotting a detailed plan for it.

The DPRK Foreign Ministry strictly denounces and rejects the U.S.-Japan-ROK racket with collective nature for nuclear confrontation and the sinister attempt of Western countries to impose an unconstitutional act on a sovereign state in the international arena and warns of the consequences to be entailed by such provocations.

The U.S. and its vassal forces’ meaningless rhetoric against the DPRK and cooperation in posing a nuclear threat to it can never affect the irreversible position of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state.

The “denuclearization” is an irreversibly finalized matter.

The U.S. is busy with war moves simulating the use of nuclear weapons while massively delivering various types of military hardware including latest air-to-air missile to the ROK and Japan. The reality clearly proves the reason and justness for our state to concentrate its efforts on bolstering up the capacity for self-defence essential for ensuring its security.

The building up of our nuclear shield is a legitimate process for deterring interference and threat from outside, guaranteeing the sovereignty and security of the state and ensuring regional peace and stability.

In coping with the enemy countries’ daily-growing nuclear threat to it, our state is taking military and technical countermeasures on the all-round scopes in use of possible capabilities and means of every category.

The DPRK is firm and unshakable in its determination to control and deal with nuclear weapons the nuclear threat by the enemy countries to encroach upon its absolute and inviolable sovereignty and security on the principle of ensuring security and defending peace by dint of powerful strength.

No matter how hard the U.S., Japan and the ROK may quibble, they will never change the present position of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state.

No one can recover the “denuclearization” permanently missed in the trend of the times.

The expansion of the DPRK’s nuclear capacity and its self-defensive capability based on it is irreversible and this is a strong security guarantee for regional stability and peace.
