Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) — The Munphyong Smeltery in the DPRK completed a production system for recycling the waste materials, according to Rodong Sinmun.

This production system, highly appreciated at the 39th National Festival of Science and Technology, is a success that makes it possible to protect the ecological environment and firmly guarantee the sustainable development of Juche-oriented nonferrous metal production.

The smeltery set up a process for producing sublimated matter by using waste materials in the course of producing lead and zinc. And this sublimated matter is sent to the electrolytic zinc production line to be used as a raw material. A process of extracting iron oxide from the waste slag generated in producing sublimated matter was also established.

The smeltery is now pushing ahead with technical preparations for producing various kinds of blocks and tiles by using silicon compound created after extracting iron oxide in the process of producing sublimated matter.
