Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) — The Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory in the DPRK is a foodstuff production base which plays an important role in improving the people’s standard of living.

The factory has remodeled the peanut sorter into the form of multi-stage cylinder to save much manpower while producing tasty confectionery with high hygienic safety in the modernized and home-made production lines.

In the course of putting the production on a scientific basis, six lines of producing cake, candy, corn syrup, etc. won the food safety management system certificate.

The factory is associated with the love of the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un for the people.

On June 15, 2016, the respected Comrade General Secretary visited the finely-remodeled Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory, despite the vicious, untimely rain. And he said that he was pleased to see the factory producing various kinds of foodstuffs satisfying various nutritive and hygienic requirements.

He stressed that the factory can put the production on a normal footing to produce and supply much more confectionery to the people only when a proper measure is taken to supply raw materials.

Expressing expectation and belief that the officials and employees of the factory would produce more tasty and nutritious foodstuffs, he had a photo session with them.

The factory recently achieved many successes, including the establishment of the processes of producing grain chips and packing bottles of corn syrup and the increase of the variety of foodstuffs.
