Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) — Workers of the Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory in the DPRK are greeting the day when the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un gave field guidance at the factory.

On June 15, 2016, the respected Comrade General Secretary visited the factory and went round various production processes. And he highly praised that the Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory most correctly implemented the Party’s policy on realizing the home production of equipment and the factory is holding high the banner of Juche.

Over the last decade, the factory has contributed to improving the people’s standard of living and developing the foodstuff industry by stepping up the modernization of production lines and improving the quality of products.

It designed and manufactured lots of production equipment by its own efforts and technology and established a new germ-free, dust-free, automated and streamlined foodstuff production process.

It saved much fund and materials for boiler operation by introducing a technology for removing scale by means of small molecular water and established a new method of corn processing, thus greatly raising the efficiency of management and production.

It provided a foundation for solving the sugar problem by stepping up the research into the establishment of sugar production lines and introduced lots of technical innovation proposals to make progress in supplying domestic raw and other materials for production and consolidating the production foundation.

A food safety management system was established in production lines of processing workshop and corn syrup workshop and more than 10 products were registered as February 2 goods.

The factory won the Thrice Three-Revolution Red Flag and Twice “Lathe No.26” Model Machine Prize.
