Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) — A meeting was held in the DPRK on March 31 to review the 2025 socialist emulation for increasing the production of greenhouse vegetables among the Kangdong Greenhouse Complex, the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm and the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm.

Present there were Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, officials concerned, officials of the Agricultural Commission, the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) and units which participated in the emulation and exemplary agricultural workers.

Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the UAWK, in his report referred to the fact that employees of the large-scale greenhouse farms overfulfilled their 2025 vegetable production plan, bearing in mind the noble intention of the Party.

The reporter stressed the need to put the main emphasis on the seed problem and direct efforts to technological innovation so as to grow high-yielding varieties of vegetable seeds with high nutritive value and productivity. And he called for actively introducing advanced methods of cultivating greenhouse vegetables to further boost the output.

The ranking of the socialist emulation was announced at the meeting and then, a citation in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee and the DPRK Cabinet and the rotating pennant were awarded to the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm that won the emulation, and citations of the Central Committee of the UAWK were conferred on exemplary agricultural workers.

Then speeches on experience were made.

The meeting announced the outline for the 2026 socialist emulation for boosting the production of greenhouse vegetables among large-scale greenhouse farms.
