Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) — The workers in the mining industry sector of the DPRK are striving to build a prospective production foundation while putting spurs to the current production.

The Hyesan Youth Mine has increased the amount of ore mining per hour by applying a rational blasting method according to the conditions of deposit, while giving precedence to the supply of materials and directing efforts to the construction of pits for deep development and to the full operation of belt conveyors and other equipment.

The December 5 Youth Mine has taken steps for renovating gearings and removing scale to revitalize production.

The Unpha Mine has raised the output of minerals by increasing the operating rate of equipment at conveying and ore-dressing processes. The Pupho Mine has intensified the technical innovation with the main stress on solving the problems arising in restoring pits and ensuring the smooth operation of transport system.

Munphyong and Manpho smelteries have stepped up the technical preparations to establish a new sulfuric acid production processes and the overhaul of existing processes while directing efforts to ensuring the normal operation of equipment in every system and enhancing the rate of actual extraction to carry out their daily production plans.

Phungnyon, Yongyu and Jungsan mines have made achievements in the modernization project for improving the quality index of phosphate concentrate and in reinforcing production process.
