Efforts for Creating Economic Forests in Jagang Province of DPRK

Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) — Jagang Province of the DPRK is conducting a vigorous mass movement to create economic forests.

As the second-stage forest restoration is being conducted, the province drew up a long-term plan for remodeling the shrubberies, treeless places and pure forests on the basis of survey data on the state of forest creation in the region and is concentrating efforts and means on planting trees.

Cities and counties are striving to remodel the nurseries for putting the sapling production on a scientific, industrial and intensive basis and secure enough species necessary for the creation of economic forests, including forests of oil-bearing trees, forests of raw materials for paper and forests of wild fruit trees.

They have planted trees in a long-term way, concentrating efforts on accumulating forests and increasing the output of resources.
