Efforts for Reducing Power Loss in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) — The workers in the power transmission and transformation sector of the DPRK are taking measures to make effective use of the produced electricity.

The South Hwanghae Provincial Power Transmission and Distribution Station set up transformers at various substations and settled the voltage fluctuation of power for irrigation water and farming by erecting electric-light poles, replacing insulators and laying transmission lines in nearly 20 km-long sections in a qualitative way.

Meanwhile, it finished the technical preparation for the laying of transmission lines in the Ongjin area and is making full preparations to establish a rational power system while giving precedence to the supply of materials and equipment.

The North Phyongan Provincial Power Transmission and Distribution Station is concentrating its efforts on the supply of electricity to the farms, while forming in a radial shape the transmission system in Jongju City and Unjon, Sonchon and Kwaksan counties.

The South Phyongan Provincial Power Transmission and Distribution Station is pushing ahead with the technical upgrading of transmission equipment and lines to create more electricity reserves.

The power transmission and transformation sector is striving to supply the produced electricity in a responsible manner while realigning the power grids in a more profitable way.
