Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) — President Kim Il Sung was a benevolent father of the people as he had always found himself among them, regarding it as his motto to believe in them as in Heaven.

With the auspicious April holiday approaching, the Korean people are recollecting with deep emotion the devoted efforts of the President, who continued a long journey along the rough road, saying that he should visit every place where the people live.

One day in January 1962, the President gave on-the-spot guidance to Sinchon County, South Hwanghae Province. When he finished his talk with officials, it was lunch time

Before going to his lodgings, he asked an official about the farm where women stopped the lead-off car.

He came to know the fact that it was the Wonam Cooperative Farm (then) and the official let the women, who came to see the President, go back. Then the President said that he should meet them even if he missed his lunch, and went to the farm to gratify the wishes of the people.

When he visited a mountain village, the President said that the living standards of inhabitants in the mountainous areas may be lower than those in the plain areas but they would be better in the future, and indicated the orientations and ways for it.

It was none other than the President who visited houses of the people to acquaint himself with their living conditions, opening the lids of rice crock and cooking pot before anything else, and visited workers’ hostels to open wardrobes and chests of quilts and met children to look into textbooks and pencils of schoolbags.

That’s why the DPRK people are still singing such songs as “When We Walk along the Road between Fields” and “Our Leader” with their deeper yearning for the President.
