Pyongyang, April 22 (KCNA) — President Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army on April 25, 1932 and created and applied unique strategies and tactics and methods for guerrilla warfare in the days of leading the anti-Japanese revolutionary war to victory.
Among them is the “Guerrillas Actions”, a manual for guerrilla tactics authored by the President on April 25, 1933, one year after the foundation of the KPRA.
The manual deals with the fundamental matters ranging from the guerrillas’ spiritual and moral qualities to the general principles of guerrilla warfare.
Specified in it are all the principles and methods related to combat actions of the KPRA such as defensive battle, march and bivouac, and firing, handling weapons and discipline.
The “Guerrillas Actions” had served as a guideline for combat actions and life of the KPRA commanding officers and members.
The officers and members of the KPRA dealt a heavy blow to the Japanese imperialists by skillfully applying the guerrilla tactics and strategies clarified in the “Guerrillas Actions”.
In this regard, the Japanese imperialists admitted that the KPRA’s protean tactics of guerrilla warfare could not be found in any military books of the Japanese army and its strategy and tactics.
Thanks to the original principles, methods and tactics of guerrillas’ activities created by the President in the days of the anti-Japanese war, the KPRA could defeat the Japanese imperialists superior in numbers and military technology and accomplish the historic cause of national liberation on August 15, 1945.
