Sci-tech Activities Brisk in DPRK

 

Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) — North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK is conducting sci-tech activities conducive to the development of the regional economy and the improvement of the people’s standard of living.

The province has organized a sci-tech festival and a scientific seminar on a regular basis, with the aim of ensuring that the technical innovation movement in all sector and units is conducted as an undertaking of the masses themselves.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex has raised the temperature of furnace by lowering the moisture content of concentrates charged into an oxygen heat blast furnace, thus increasing the quality and productivity of molten iron while reducing the consumption of anthracite.

The Myonggan Chemical Factory succeeded in manufacturing and introducing differential flow measuring device into the low-temperature brown coal carbonization process.

An integrated management system presented by Chongjin University of Mining and Metallurgy is popular as it helps the Onpho Working People’s Holiday Camp put its management activities on a scientific basis and comprehensively grasp and control the power consumption, water supply and the state of various kinds of equipment.

Phohang District of Chongjin City developed an automated block molder and Onsong County increased the durability of equipment by removing moisture from transformer oil.

Officials, scientists and technicians of Orang and Kyongsong counties are making achievements in the researches to solve scientific and technological problems conducive to the diversification of products at newly-built regional-industry factories and to the stable and sustained development of agricultural production.
